Health Services Intern – 12-Week Summer Internship

About the Damar Internship Program

As a Health Services Intern, you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience in the Health Services field during a 12-week summer internship. You’ll work closely with a team of experienced professionals and have the opportunity to engage with our unique client population, gaining exposure to how our facility operates. This internship is a great fit for anyone interested in pursuing a career in Health Services. You’ll not only learn about the day-to-day operations of our facility but also collaborate with a diverse, skilled team. Additionally, you’ll expand your professional network by working alongside other motivated interns and practicum students with similar career goals. As a Health Services Intern, you will assist with various tasks such as care coordination, outreach, and data collection/analysis. You’ll also have the opportunity to observe and learn from our medical providers. A key part of the role will be contributing to the development of spreadsheets used to track quality outcomes and medical appointments. This internship offers more than just experience — it provides opportunities for mentorship, leadership development, and coaching. You’ll play a vital role in supporting the success of our clients while building relationships and skills to support your career journey.

What you need to be considered:

  • High school diploma.
  • Currently enrolled at least half-time in an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum age of 18 per licensure requirements
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
  • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening

Essential Job Functions:

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
