About the Damar Internship Program

As a Pharmacy Intern, you’ll gain hands-on, real-world experience in the field of pharmacy, while directly contributing to the care of individuals served by Damar. Our internship program provides valuable exposure for anyone interested in pursuing a career in pharmacy, offering the opportunity to work alongside pharmacists and technicians in a collaborative clinic setting. Throughout the 12-week summer internship, you will gain insight into the daily operations of a pharmacy, learning essential skills while supporting a unique client population. You’ll also have the chance to build meaningful relationships with prescribers, clinic staff, and fellow interns, all while receiving mentorship and career guidance to support your professional development. This is more than just an internship — it’s a chance to grow through mentorship, leadership development, and coaching. You’ll play an active role in contributing to the success of our clients, all while expanding your network with other driven interns and practicum students who share similar career aspirations.

Remarkable way you will make a difference as an Intern...

• Experiencing day-to-day pharmacy activities including filling prescriptions, talking on the phone and putting away orders.
• Inventory management.
• Research projects on medications, disease states or pharmacy management.
• Patient counseling depending on level of education. 
• Community outreach programs. 
• Cleans and maintains supplies in pharmacy.

Remarkable way you will make a difference as an Intern...

• High school diploma.
• Currently enrolled at least half-time in an accredited college or university.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Must meet and maintain background screening requirements of program(s) assigned to.
• No felony convictions or other criminal offenses involving a dependent population.

Essential Job Functions:

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
